Tomorrow When the War Began (2010) This is an Australian film about a bunch of teens who are away camping when an unspecified country invades and conquers Australia. They then have to survive as guerrilla fighters. I'm happy for details from the books to be included (although I haven't read the Ellie Chronicles).
What I would most dearly love is some Ellie/Fi, because they were extremely in love (Lee who??). Perhaps some mutual pining, either set before the invasion or afterwards. What is being queer like in a rural town? Does Ellie feel weird about it because Fi is a townie? Does Fi feel weird about it because she feels like an outsider? Or perhaps it's during the war, and they realise that they could all die tomorrow, so there's no point in silently pining anymore? Perhaps they're talking about what it might be like after the war, to build a life together. This is the fandom I'm most open to AUs, but i'd like the vibe to be preserved, if possible (e.g. maybe the TWTWB gang are animorphs now, fighting against the yeerks). Please no romantic Ellie/Homer, though I'm totally into an exploration of their friendship (or even a FWB situation, as long as you don't focus on the sex itself). I'd also be down for a character study of Homer -- why does he break so many windows at school? Does he feel like an outsider in this extremely anglo town? How does he deal with the war, since we only ever see Ellie's perspective?

This is a surreal baseball simulator that involves communally coming up with backstories and narratives for randomly-generated "blaseball" players and their teams. A video that explains it is

So all of my character requests are pretty flexible -- I'm happy for it to be about the team(s) they're on/have been on in the past as an ensemblefic, for instance. Obviously I don't need Mike Townsend and York Silk to meet, or anything -- although if you want to write that, I think it'd be fascinating!
With Mike there's obviously such a wealth of Narrative that he's been involved in, from being hated by the team and the city to becoming a credit to the team to the necromancy to what he was doing in the shadows to his triumphant return to... his appalling tenth season and subsequent retreat back into the shadows. The RNG is a bitch, sorry Mike.
For York Silk I would love stuff about his time in Hawai'i, especially his relationship with Nagomi McDaniel, but if you want to talk about his time on THE SHELLED ONE'S PODS then I'd love that too! Or perhaps him getting used to being on the Moist Talkers, leaving the bubble that kept him eternally eight and having to get used to snow. Has he ever seen snow before? Does he LARP with the Pitching Machine?
NaN | Original Wyatt Mason -- how did the Wyatt Masoning affect him? Is he still Wyatt Mason, or is he something different? (Who is the Microphone, if he's Wyatt? what's his relationship with the Microphone, or with Jaylen and Sixpack Dogwalker?) What was his relationship with the Pitching Machine, when PM was on the Tacos? Or perhaps you could do something about the NaN World Tour, or him getting used to being on the Lovers, now that feedback has (temporarily?) ceased.
I don't have any particular ships for blaseball, but go wild if you do! And since blaseball has infinite universes, if something I've said here doesn't line up with your conception of the character, I'd love to read your spin on them! Also if you want to write an AU where they're on completely different teams, that'd be cool too!
Anne of Green Gables (Anne Shirley, Diana Barry, Gilbert Blythe, Marilla Cuthbert) [Characters are OR not AND]
Anne of Green Gables is a book series about an orphan who gets adopted by two siblings on Prince Edward Island and her adventures thereafter. Most of the books are on Project Gutenberg!
So I totally ship Anne/Gilbert, Anne/Diana and Anne/Diana/Gilbert, I am very equal opportunity here. Also I have a soft spot for Marilla/Rachel, if you wanted to go there. There are so many options for this fandom! I love queer Anne, but of course it's the 19th century -- how does that context affect her? Does she perhaps worry about coming out to Matthew, only to discover that there's a reason he never married? With Anne/Diana, I'd like for it not to be infidelity -- either Gilbert knows and is fine with it or he's out of the picture for whatever reason (also Fred Wright, of course, whom I totally forgot about. Sorry Fred.). Assuming he found happiness elsewhere, what kind of a life would Anne and Diana build together? While obviously I know the context of late 19th century rural Canada isn't going to lend itself to everything being totally fine, but I'd rather it not be all doom and gloom -- I'd especially love for her to retain a relationship with Marilla and Matthew (...who could very well be still alive, because this is fanfic!!). Perhaps they mentor a young queer, or give a loving home to some orphans because Anne knows how miserable it is to be put into service?
If you'd rather not go for the queerness, I would love something about how much Gilbert is just so extremely gone for Anne Shirley. Is it before Anne came around? After? Maybe it's outsider POV of people being sorry for him? Or is it people being happy about Gilbert who cannot stop telling people he's engaged to Anne Shirley? (The bit in House of Dreams where he keeps finding opportunities to call her his wife??? Kills the man.) Perhaps Anne is ill, and Gilbert is fretting over her (but, of course, she recovers).
And if you'd rather write something about Marilla -- as I said, I'm a fan of Marilla/Rachel, presumably after Thomas has died. Or perhaps it's a fic about when Marilla realises she loves Anne, even though Anne wasn't exactly what they were picturing when they went to adopt an orphan. Or her concern that history will repeat itself with the Blythes, both Anne and Marilla too stubborn to forgive them. Perhaps someone says something less than complimentary about Anne, and Marilla goes into bat for her? The possibilities are endless!
Night at the Museum
Museum exhibits come to life for Reasons. Two of those exhibits are dioramas -- one of the American frontier, and one of Ancient Rome. We all know what we're here for, folks: it's Octavius/Jedediah.
Every time I see these films on tv I think "man I would love more fic about these two" and lo, that's exactly what yuletide is for! I know that I've said I would prefer a canon setting, but if you wanted to make it time travel where for Reasons (explained or mystery), one of them travels to the American frontier or Ancient Rome and meets the other.... well, I'm just saying. The concept is there. Otherwise, I'd love to get anything about their relationship -- how did it begin? How do their friends react (or do they hide it from them)? While I won't lie, I will have to hunt down the sequels to watch them properly if you do decide to go for a moment in one of those (though you're welcome to!), there are so many moments where one or the other is in peril -- how does that feel? I can't remember if they can see/know what's happening during the day, but do they notice queer museum visitors, perhaps?
