Hello!! Thank you for agreeing to write something for me. <3 I'm signed up to Yuletide as facingthenorthwind (spacegandalf) and if you're writing me a treat, please gift it there. Optional details are optional, of course, and I'd love to see whatever you come up with! Some of these have more stuff about them than others but that's not because I'm less enthusiastic about the others! Some of them just lend themselves to longer sections, often because they have a squillion characters in the tagset.

I am open to interactive fiction and crossovers (see +here for a list of fandoms I'm familiar with and anything I've written or bookmarked except for Hibike! Euphonium, Supergirl and any characters that appear in the Jacket Bar).

I know I forgot to put the fandom-specific DNWs in my sign-up, so they're not binding. (I apparently did my signup with zero thinking this year.)

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures (Comics)

The High Republic is a multimedia project of novels and comics that's For The Queers. There are so few heterosexuals in here, it's amazing. They really said "sure, the lesbians didn't get to kiss on screen in Andor but Disney doesn't care about the publishing arm so let's go hog wild" and they sure did! There are three phases, and each of them is set in a different time: Phase I is the early 230s BBY (about 200 years before TPM), Phase II is set in 382 BBY with an entirely different set of characters, and Phase III is set a year after Phase I ended. Phase II is set a hundred and fifty years earlier as an homage to the Prequel Trilogy, and there's lots of stuff it sets up that pays off when you reread Phase I and going into Phase III but that's not really important in The High Republic Adventures, which is the kid/teen-focused comics run. The books and comics are intertwined, but many of the characters in the comics only appear in small parts in one or two books, so I've just requested the comics runs to make it less intimidating, and I'm not expecting my gifter to bring book canon in if they don't want to. The 2021 run is Phase I, the 2022 run is Phase II and the 2023 run is Phase III. While you can definitely read Phase II without any knowledge of Phase I, you really need Phase I knowledge to understand Phase III!

The basic premise of the High Republic: it's the golden age for the Jedi. They're opening a big space station in the Outer Rim so the Jedi can help people out there, and there are lots of different temples open across the galaxy. Unfortunately, there are people out there who hate the Jedi! No Sith here, but in Phase II it's a cult who thinks Jedi are evil for using the Force, and in Phase I and III it's a band of pirates/terrorists called the Nihil who hate the Jedi because they hate the Republic and love committing crimes, which the Jedi try to stop them from doing. The big problem is that both the cult and the Nihil have access to weapons that are uniquely good at killing Jedi, which they use devastatingly effectively.

If you are interested but are worried about how big it all is, I highly recommend the 2022 run of The High Republic Adventures, because it is the most self-contained bit of THR that exists. It's also hilarious. What could go wrong with a Padawan who sneaks away from her master to become a (non-evil) pirate? Dexter Jettster is there! He's in a canonical QPR with Maz Kanata! A pirate and a pirate-hunter are in gay forbidden love! There's THERM SCISSORPUNCH! The handful of issues where they land in the middle of the Battle of Jedha are great because while you don't understand the wider conflict, neither do they! Sav Malagán is the main character of this run, and she's the one I've nominated.

In the 2021 and 2023 runs, our heroes are a bunch of Padawans (later Knights!) who are on the Starlight Beacon, the cool new space station in the Outer Rim. They have to help deal with an event called the Great Hyperspace Disaster, where chunks of a destroyed ship fall out of hyperspace at almost the speed of light and destroy planets and kill a lot of people. And then in Phase III, they... well, that would be spoilers for Phase III! The two characters I've nominated from this are Zeen Mrala and Lula Talisola. They're canonically baby dykes in love. They're the main characters of their run, and I love their relationship SO much. You don't have to write shippy fic for them if you don't want, though! Please don't write Krix/Zeen, though.

Ty Yorrick is from Phase I and III, but she has her own miniseries within THRA: The Monster of Temple Peak and Saber for Hire. She left the Jedi as a Padawan and is now a freelance monster hunter. She's a disaster. So I'm going to split my prompts into three: ones about Sav/Phase II, ones about Ty Yorrick, and ones about Lula and Zeen. The prompts all contain spoilers, but I'll note when there are Phase III spoilers, since that's currently releasing. (Assume I will have read whatever has released by the time reveals come around! As of writing this letter, the latest issues for current runs have been: Saber for Hire #4 and THRA #10. I've also read all the novels and other comics, so you can bring in stuff from those if you want! Though Avar Kriss/Elzar Mann doesn't interest me, tbh, so if you're going to pull in book stuff, I'd like that kept to a minimum or avoided entirely.)

Sav Malagán
From the 2021 run:

  • What if Sav hadn't given Qort over to Yoda? What kind of shenanigans would happen?
  • Maz has gone to the Takodana Jedi Temple for "caf dates and slumber parties". What happens at those?
2022 run:
  • I would love anything about Sav's adventures as a pirate Padawan! What chaos does Sinube bring to Sav's life?
  • Perhaps something about Sav's Gender Hats? Technically the High Republic Character Encyclopedia gives her pronouns only as "she/her", but what if she has some Gender going on? She uses a different hat when she's going by he/him as an undercover pirate, and I think there's stuff to explore there!
  • How did she get a Kuyo war shield hat in the first place (the big flat one)?
  • There's this little mention of Sav and Saya in Escape from Valo (don't worry, the rest of the book isn't relevant):
  • That Jedi I told you my grandma fell for on Jedha—Sav Malagán? Nana Saya was ready to leave her group, the Dank Graks, and run away together. But the girl said she couldn’t go with her. Broke Nana’s heart. They became close friends later and finally talked about it, what had happened—something about Jedi not forming powerful attachments, and also my grandma was a war criminal?”
  • What happened there? What if they had got together?
  • Even though I've only nominated Sav from this run, I'm very happy for you to write about any of the characters in this run! I love all of them so much. Some ideas:
  • THERM SCISSORPUNCH. How did he start to fabricate his reputation? Does he gain a real reputation after the Battle of Jedha?
  • Anything about Dexter Jettster in this era! Especially his relationship with Maz.
  • Anything about Tera Sinube (sorry, I mean Lavalox Verzen, obviously) infiltrating the Dank Graks!
  • Raf/Alak and their star-crossed romance!
  • Anything about the tiny Officer Rado and his doomed attempts to stop Coromont from committing crimes.
Zeen Mrala and Lula Talisola

From the 2021 run:
  • Zeen having to hide the Force from Krix and the rest of her community can very easily be read as a metaphor for being in the closet. Is she hiding both her Force sensitivity and her queerness on Trymant IV?
  • I am obsessed with Zeen's conviction that she needs to run away so she doesn't get in the way of Lula's destiny to become a Jedi. What if she did try to run away? Would Lula and co. go looking for her? Or just Lula?
  • What if they got together earlier?
  • What was Zeen's life like before we met her?
  • What was Lula's life like before we met her?

(Back to Table of Contents if you want to avoid 2023 run spoilers!)
The Zeen and Lula prompts I'm about to give have spoilers through to the currently releasing run, so warning for that!

  • What adventures did Lula have between the fall of Starlight Beacon and Zeen finding her?
  • How does Lula explain to her fellow Jedi about her decision to leave for Zeen?
  • You can write smut for this one if you like! (Do Mikkians have anything fun happening down there?)
  • Does Lula talk to people about proposing with other Jedi (other than what we see with her worrrying over the bracelet with Qort and Farzala)?
  • What makes them decide to be the quintessential baby dykes uhauling across space? Is it because they know people could be killed by the Nihil or the Nameless at any opportunity? Or something else?
  • What if Lula tries to make things work with Zeen without leaving the Order?
  • What if she had got her memories back, instead of mostly getting them second-hand after the crash? Or perhaps more exploration of her learning to live with her amnesia? I know I DNW'd permanent amnesia but this one is canonical, so feel free to explore it.
Ty Yorrick

Monster of Temple Peak:
  • Did anyone look for her when she left the Order?
  • We know she hides from Jedi during the time of the Starlight Beacon. What would happen if one caught her?
  • What was Ty like as a Padawan?
  • How did Ty cope with being on her own when she left the Order?
  • What if Klias hadn't died? If Ty had subdued him in some non-fatal way, and they'd returned to the Jedi?
(Back to Table of Contents if you want to avoid 2023 run spoilers!)

Saber For Hire (Phase III spoilers!)
  • What if she was actually a decent person to Drewen? He doesn't deserve her treatment of him. :(
  • What the fuck happened to Cibaba? Why did he join the Nihil? What's his recovery like? (A fic about this doesn't have to include Ty if you don't want to!)
  • What happens next? Do Ty and Drewen remain at the temple for a while?

The High Republic (Marvel Comics) (Any)
For a basic explanation of the High Republic, see the High Republic Adventures blurb above! Though for some reason, the beginning of THR doesn't explain the Great Hyperspace Disaster at all, so: big chunks of a ship that was travelling through hyperspace fall out of hyperspace and whizz through realspace at almost the speed of light. Anything in their path gets instantly obliterated, which destroys small planets and kills heaps of people. This comic starts after that gets solved. Like THRA, I have requested some characters from Phase II and from Phase I/III. Vildar and Tey get as flashback in Phase III that's unrelated to the Phase III plot. Assume I'm caught up with all the books and comics. You're free to include stuff from the books, but it's definitely not an obligation! You can definitely write fic just knowing what is in the comics. You don't need to write shippy fic with Vildar and Tey; they're just grouped together because their plots interact.

Vildar and Tey
  • Vildar is a fucked up little guy. What made him decide to avoid the Togrutan front?
  • Everyone at Enlightenment laughs and is clearly extremely familiar with Tey pulling the Morichro trick. What made them so familiar with it?
  • What's the Vildar-Matty dynamic like? Has Vildar had a Padawan before?
  • Why did Tey join the Guardians in the first place?
  • Please no talk about their radically different lifespans!

(Back to Table of Contents if you want to avoid 2023 run spoilers!)
There's a flashback to Phase II in the 2023 run. These prompts don't spoil the Phase III events, though.
  • How do they get together? Who makes the first move?
  • What's Matty's reaction to them getting together? Or Oliviah's?
  • Are there other moments like the flashback when Tey feels like he's failed Vildar?
  • How do all their coworkers know they're together? I am obsessed with the "problems at home?" comment one of their colleagues makes.
  • Are there Jedi who have Thoughts And Opinions about their relationship? Does Vildar keep it from other Jedi? If so, how does Tey feel about that?
  • Tey says that Vildar taught him how to use the Hand of Siberius for good. How did that work?
  • Why is Tey carrying around the balm of the Luminous?
Keeve Trennis
  • Keeve claims she needs more time when she loses the duel at her padawan trial. What's her Padawanship like? Is she plagued by those thoughts? How does Sskeer reassure her?
  • Hear me out......... Keeve/Lourna. It would be fucked up. Happy to waive all my DNWs about relationships for this one. They would 100% make each other worse and I Would Like To See It.
  • Having reread her THR stuff, I have come to realise that I don't particularly have prompts about her for you? I just think she's neat and there's lots to explore with her relationship with Sskeer and to the Order and generally everything.
Deadloch (TV) (Any)

This is an Australian murder mystery comedy full of lesbians. When a serial killer starts killing people in a Tasmanian town around the time of the Winter Feastival, an occasion that brings many lesbians from the mainland, how will our intrepid heroes find the killer? It manages to be an incredibly gripping murder mystery as well as a comedy, and basically every character is ripe for exploration. And yes, while it's about cops, it's critical of them. While there are heaps of characters nominated, if your heart is set on writing a fic about one not in the tagset, go forth and fulfil your dreams! Now I have to write prompts without spoiling everything, oh god. Hopefully you can read through the lines enough to get what I mean, but I suppose Optional Details Are Optional applies even more so here, haha. Per my DNWs, please don't linger on Dulcie's infidelity!

Some thoughts in no particular order (I know these don't hit every character in the tagset but there are so many, so I'm happy to read about the ones I don't mention here too!):
  • Sven has so many hidden depths. He's fluent in Indonesian! He knows everyone he calls up and their personal lives! Why did he stay in Deadloch when, in his words, he feels like he's about to be hate crimed if he goes to the pub? Why did he go into law enforcement if he doesn't really like it? What was his experience of life before Dulcie came to town?
  • I love Abby so much, she's so perfect and deserves so much better. What's her life like after the show? Does she fall in love with Kate? Does she flourish in her new role? What was her falling out with Sharelle? They seem to have stopped talking when Abby became a police officer. What was their relationship before that? Was Abby always this anxious, or was it as a result of some event (by which I mean James, lbr)? Did other people try to convince her James was bad for her and she didn't listen?
  • Eddie claims she's "done stuff" with women. Does she do any more stuff after the end of the show? With Dulcie and Cath, perhaps? What's investigating Bushy's murder like? What's her relationship with her colleagues in Darwin -- does Dulcie defend her against hostility, perhaps? I'm also into just some gen bickering between them! Does Eddie ever actually remember what Dulcie and Cath's names are?
  • I'd love to read more about Miranda's feelings about her scholarship and her decision to reject it. What is her life like after the show?
  • What's Holly's relationship with Eddie like? What's her reaction to Bushy's murder? What's her reaction to Eddie, Dulcie and Cath turning up on her doorstep?
  • What's Kate's experience working with James like? What does she witness of Abby and James's relationship?
  • Vanessa Latham has had such a hard life. I'd love an exploration of any of those experiences, or perhaps by some miracle she ends up in therapy and comes to accept that what happened to her when she was younger was wrong? (Or perhaps she just gets to thinking about it after Dulcie and Eddie say it's wrong?)

(Back to Table of Contents)

Andor (TV) (Any)

This is a live-action Star Wars show and it's got almost no action compared to your average Star War. It's all POLITICS, BABEY. It's available on Disney Plus, and I had the time of my life. It's my favourite Star Wars live action thing that has ever been made. I love so much how it allows space for really excellent character moments and explores the early rebellion that's a lot more complex in terms of the morality of what they're doing. I'm waiving my DNW for MCD here, because... well... a lot of people die. I'm going to organise them in vague groupings in terms of my thoughts, but of course that is just for organisational purposes and isn't necessarily reflective of anything.

Chandrilans: Mon Mothma, Leida Mothma, Perrin Fertha
  • So infidelity is a general DNW but this is the one circumstance I'll waive it. I loathe Mon's husband and I will support the hell out of her having an affair (although I really don't want it to be with Bail Organa unless Breha knows and is fine with it!). Tay Kolma is of course a prime candidate.
  • Were Tay and Mon together at school and forced to break up because Mon was forced to marry Perrin?
  • What was her early marriage to Perrin like? Was he less of a dickhead at some point?
  • If Mon does have an affair, does Perrin find out? How does he react? Has he also been having affairs? Is having affairs the norm for Chandrilans who have arranged marriages because the arranged marriages are for political or money reasons, so while it's not exactly approved of to have affairs, no one is surprised?
  • What if Perrin found out about Mon being a Rebel?
  • So far, we've mostly just seen Mon talking about money things. What else does she do for the Rebellion? How did she get involved?
  • I would love more exploration of the weird culty tradition thing Leida has going on. We know Perrin doesn't care about it, so how did she get involved? What does it entail?
  • What are Leida's thoughts on getting an arranged marriage with Davo Sculdun's son?
  • Did she once have a better relationship with Mon?
Ferrixians: Brasso, Bix Caleen, Wilmon Paak, Maarva Andor, Cassian Andor
  • Brasso is the greatest of friends. What's his relationship with Cassian like before the show? What other favours has he done for Cassian?
  • What was caring for Maarva like for Brasso? Did he have any qualms about doing treason against the Empire?
  • What's Brasso backstory? Has he always wanted to be a grappler?
  • How did Bix get involved with selling things to Luthen? (For that matter, how did Salman get involved?)
  • What was her relationship with Cassian like? Clearly they had an amicable breakup -- what prompted that? I know I DNWed breakups but as long as it's amicable, I'm happy to you to explore this one.
  • How did Bix feel about hiding her activities from Timm?
  • You could explore Bix's torture and how she's subsequently broken by it, and how the gang who flies to Gangi Moon care for her afterwards.
  • Do our faves get involved in the rebellion in a bigger capacity?
  • Did Wilmon know that Salman was doing rebel stuff? What were his feelings about it? Does Wilmon live alone after his death or does someone else take care of him?
  • I love Maarva, but it's pretty fucked up that she stole a child and then told him to forget about his past and stop looking for his sister. Does Cassian ever resent her for it? Does anyone call her out on it?
  • What was the aftermath of Clem's death?
  • What happens to Cassian after the S1 finale?

Rebels: Cinta Kaz, Vel Sartha, Arvel Skeen, Karis Nemik, Kleya Marki, Luthen Rael
  •  I'm not going to lie, I loathe Skeen. If you want to write about Skeen, your challenge is to make me like him or have fun loathing him. I'm very much open to that! Perhaps exploring his life before he got involved in the rebellion, or why/how he joined. Why did he invent the story about his brother? Is there some kernel of truth in it? I have zero interest in anything romantic involving Skeen, so please write genfic only for him!
  • Cinta/Vel is so compelling because they're so different! How did they get together? What are their struggles about being from radically different social classes?
  • When Perrin asks Vel if she's found herself a husband yet, how does she feel about that, knowing she's got Cinta instead? Is there lots of homophobia on Chandrila?
  • How did Vel get involved in the rebellion? Was it through Mon or some other way?
  • Nemik, my beloved space Marx. I would love more of his manifesto, or how he got involved in the rebellion. What does Luthen think of his manifesto? Is there anyone who's enthusiastic about it? What is his family's position (or have they been killed?)?
  • Kleya is SO compelling. How did she become Luthen's right hand? What's her relationship with other rebels (imo she and Vel have Ex-Girlfriends Energy)? Sometimes she's the one telling Luthen off for taking unnecessary risks -- what's it like being the voice of reason for the head of a rebel cell? Does she have training in her job as the assistant in their antiques gallery?
  • How did Luthen get involved with doing treason? How did he meet Saw? Did he get the antiques gallery first or start it after as a front?
Kino Loy
  • Unfortunately he didn't fit into any other categories, haha.
  • Does he survive the prison, either by finding something to float on or perhaps taking a speeder or something? If you could refrain from writing fic about him drowning, that would be good. I'm cool with fic about his realisation that he's inciting this riot with the knowledge that he won't be able to escape, though!
  • What's his life pre-prison like? Andy Serkis has a really wonderful backstory for him that he talked about here:
    • "We sort of set up this back-history that he had a family, that he was a factory worker, a shop steward and a foreman in his life outside of prison, but he was very vocal about workers’ rights. And then he forgot all about that as soon as he was in prison and just became a tough shell of his former self. He just wanted to get through the day. [...] [The crime that landed him in prison] was [him] vocally standing up for workers’ rights and that was seen as being unpatriotic in some way, or that he was stepping out of line and being a troublemaker."
  • Feel free to explore that backstory, or come up with your own!
  • What about the emotional arc he goes through in prison? Becoming hard and abandoning his previous values, only caring about the number of days he has left. What's it like realising that Cassian is right, and they need to rebel?
Fandom-specific DNWs:

  • Any romantic relationships involving Arvel Skeen
  • Portraying Saw Gerrera as morally worse than Luthen
  • Non-Star Wars settings (though AUs involving different part of Star Wars are fine)

Score: A Hockey Musical (2010)
When I watched this film a few years ago, I immediately edited my Yuletide signup to include it. It's a Whole Experience and I highly recommend watching it for free on Youtube here! It's 1 hour and 38 minutes of the most baffling thing you will experience today. If "hockey musical" doesn't sell you, there's a glorious promo post here. It inexplicably stars Patrick from Schitt's Creek and Olivia Newton John is his mother. Nelly Furtado is there. I simply cannot express in words How Much this film happens.
  • I love my son Moose. We see him go on a whole journey about what intricate rituals you need to construct to touch the skin of other men and I'd love to see something exploring that!
  • I also ship Farley/Moose. Does it happen before the whole Farley doesn't fight scandal or after? Is Moose, known Sensitive Guy, already aware/comfortable with his queerness? Or does he have to work through it with Farley?
  • What's the conversation like when the Blades have that discussion about violence and refused to let Coach Donk in?
  • Does Moose ever meet Farley's parents (as a friend or boyfriend)? How does that go?
  • I firmly believe in my heart that Coach Donk and Ace (the grumpy guy in the black toque who totally could have been in the NHL) are secretly married. (It would be hilarious if they're not even trying to hide it, they're just Like That. but deliberately hiding it would also be delicious.) Or any Donk/Ace!
  • Donk and/or Ace being queer would be interesting to explore specifically because of the violent masculinity they're both policing in Farley. Queerness Meets The Toxic Masculinity Of Hockey Culture!!
  • Does Farley make it to the big show? What happens after that glorious ending musical number?
  • A Do Not Want: please don't have Farley and Eve together! Eve deserves someone better. I love her. (Mentions of her crush on Farley are fine.)

Yudah Cohen Series - Rebecca Fraimow

This is a series of short stories available for free:
“Further Arguments in Support of Yudah Cohen’s Proposal to Bluma Zilberman” by Rebecca Fraimow
Shaina Rubin Keeps Her Head Under Circumstances Nobody Could Have Expected
Gitl Schneiderman Learns to Live With Her In-Laws

They share a universe that's Jewish with a little magic! Yudah Cohen argues that Bluma should marry him because he could help with her mother who is definitely not a werewolf. It's just so charming and so full of possibility!
  • Yudah arriving in Vilna, becoming part of the community, finally free to be who he is. How does that feel?
  • Tante Leah -- what's her life as a werewolf like? How did it go with Yudah saying he already knew? Was she planning to confess? Who else knows? Is this just a secret that everyone pretends to keep to avoid making Leah uncomfortable? Does Shaina ever find out?
  • Yudah/Bluma -- what's their courtship like? Their marriage? If you wanted to write some smut for this, I'd be happy to receive it, though preferably not PWP. And the baby! What's living in Lodz like? Are there any unexpected surprises with the baby being a quarter demon?
  • Shaina -- her life is truly so hard. I'd love to see more of her and Bluma, or her friendship with Gitl, or her visiting Lodz. And when people start making noise about her needing to get married, does she want to or does she perhaps go to Yudah for help on how to avoid that? (She read to me as ace, but I'm happy for whatever interpretation you bring!)
  • A legal proceding/some talmud/etc. from this world would be amazing, since we know that demons have brought court cases.
  • Gitl and Mirele -- did Gitl love her husband or was it actually Mirele? Or did she love them both? What is her life like with Mirele now that they've run off to the theatre?
  • More of Yudah encountering magic -- he's been visited by dybbuks before; how did that go? What other creatures does he encounter?
